Case Study: Transcreation and Creative Writing for the Anglo-Saxon Market

A well-known global brand in the mobile technology sector, through an international language services agency, needed to adapt and develop high-impact marketing content for English-speaking audiences.

The objective: to communicate with precision and emotion in markets such as the United Kingdom and the United States, based on materials in English or directly in Chinese.

The Challenge

Adapt slogans, product campaigns and digital copy for English-speaking audiences, respecting the premium and aspirational tone of the brand.

Solve transcreation challenges from Chinese structures and cultural references, ensuring a natural and persuasive result in English.

Create original content when the source material was limited or required a complete reorientation for the new cultural context.

My Role

In collaboration with the language agency, I participated as an editor and transcreator specialized in intercultural communication. My responsibilities included:

  • Transcreation of slogans, claims and key messages for product launches and integrated campaigns.
  • Creative writing of content in English, from general briefs or from Chinese/English materials that required a complete rewrite.
  • Collaboration with creative teams and internal reviewers, ensuring that the brand voice remained consistent, clear and differentiating across all touch points.

Results

Dozens of campaigns and creative pieces successfully adapted and developed for English-speaking markets.

Powerful and culturally attuned messaging that contributed to enhancing the brand’s presence on digital channels and social media.

Very positive feedback from the marketing and linguistic teams of both the agency and the end client.
